Collaboration

Remote, on-line collaboration has transformed the way work is done - and the revolution isn't over yet. Each new advance in technology expands the potential of remote collaboration.

As a recognized leader in computer-mediated collaboration and communication, Asynchrony is committed to realizing that potential for our clients. We've developed a number of robust collaboration tools of our own from scratch. We also integrate existing solutions and systems for full collaborative functionality across platforms and enterprises.

Perhaps in the end the open-source culture will triumph not because cooperation is morally right or software "hoarding"’ is morally wrong..., but simply because the closed-source world cannot win an evolutionary arms race with open-source communities that can put orders of magnitude more skilled time into a problem. –Eric S. Raymond, "The Cathedral and the Bazaar"

Envoke messaging platform

Envoke messaging platform was explicitly developed to meet U.S. Department of Defense security standards, averting the security problems of consumer-grade IM solutions. Designed specifically for enterprise use, Envoke also incorporates a wide range of collaboration tools, including:

  • Conferencing
  • Easy creation of virtual teams
  • Secure file transfer
  • Single-click interoptability with outside collaboration systems, such as Microsoft NetMeeting and Lotus SameTime
  • Full logging and archiving of all messages and file transfers
  • Web-based administration tools

Envoke currently supports the Defense Collaboration Tool Suite for the Department of Defense, among several other prominent DoD programs. Visit the Envoke product site at www.envoke.us.

Knowledge management

Knowledge management continues to grow as a discipline, as more and more companies recognize the wealth of underutilized knowledge in their possession. Most organizations are sitting on an untapped gold mine of information, including:

  • databases such as sales records, customer lists and accounting data
  • freestanding files such as business plans, research reports and correspondence
  • intellectual property such as patents, trademarks and copyrights
  • individual expertise including employees, contractors and partners

Like deposits of raw ore, this knowledge must be identified, extracted, refined, and distributed to reap its full value. With our holistic, technology-agnostic approach, Asynchrony builds knowledge-management systems based on each client.s goals and capabilities, not the requirements of a preselected platform or application. Projects flow from explicit user needs, mediated by ongoing testing and continuous client input.
